Meet the people behind Osman Consulting's humanitarian, stabilisation, programme delivery, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) expertise.
Chairman

Moustafa is a humanitarian relief and stabilisation expert with 25 years' experience across more than 60 countries. He has provided independent consultancy to the UN and other major humanitarian agencies, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa. His experience responding to complex emergencies and natural disasters includes preparing needs and resources assessments and security and situation analyses; camp management; humanitarian procurement; monitoring and evaluation of relief and development programmes; and training and capacity building in all these areas. Moustafa is visiting lecturer of Disaster Management at the University of Birmingham and formerly at Queen's University Belfast (UK) and is a master trainer for SPHERE (humanitarian charter and disaster response minimum standards) and INEE (Education in Emergencies) in Arabic and English. He is a Deployable Civilian Expert (DCE) with the UK Stabilisation Unit; is on the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) Stand-by Member Roster, is a member of RedR, an Associate Trainer with INTRAC and a European Commission Expert.

Yousef has an engineering background with three years of experience in project management in Dubai, U.A.E. where he led many major projects for EXPO 2020 Dubai, Emirates Flight Catering, and The Jewel of The Creek and other clients with successful implementation of design, procurement, delivery, installation and commissioning. He has since applied that project management experience to verifying, evaluating, and monitoring humanitarian projects under Osman Consulting Ltd's umbrella, undertaking multiple project evaluations in Lebanon and Syria across education, shelter and health for donors including IR USA and Qatar Charity.

Mohamad Yaman Sammani serves as Programmes Manager at Osman Consulting, overseeing the coordination and delivery of humanitarian and stabilisation programmes from planning through close out. He works closely with the Programmes team to ensure projects are implemented to a high standard and in line with donor and partner requirements.

Ian has spent significant time in post-conflict settings, from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Syria and Lebanon. He specialised in Syria and Lebanon due to his personal connection with the region, pursuing this interest in his studies and obtaining a Masters in International Relations (Middle East) from Durham University in 2022. Ian has held a variety of roles in the past, including assisting refugees, customer service and project coordination, making him adaptable and versatile. He is fluent in Arabic and plays a key role in the Programmes team at Osman Consulting Ltd.

Tanjila is a dedicated professional with a master's degree in International Development. As a Programmes Officer, she has a diverse background in international development, project management, and stakeholder relations. Tanjila has a track record of successfully coordinating programmes, particularly in the MENA and South Asia regions, and a knack for fostering seamless communication with stakeholders that results in clear media materials that show programme progress and results. Her proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office and Canva, combined with her fluency in English and native Bangla, makes her a versatile asset to the team.

With a background in pharmacy from Jordan, Mohammed brings a scientific and detail-oriented approach to his role in the humanitarian field. He combines data-driven insight with a commitment to impact, ensuring that programmes are monitored effectively, evaluated rigorously, and continually improved to better serve the communities we work with.

Nour holds a strong academic background in education, with a master's thesis focused on sustainable development. She brings valuable experience in proposal writing and serves as a MEAL Officer in the humanitarian sector, leveraging her skills to ensure the quality and accountability of humanitarian projects through effective monitoring, evaluation, and verification.

Alice is a multilingual Business Development Officer with years of experience in the humanitarian and charity sectors, spanning programme management and business development functions. She holds a BA in Languages and Communication from Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and an MSc in Poverty, Inequality and Development from the University of Birmingham. At Osman Consulting, Alice drives donor engagement, proposal development, social media representation, and stakeholder mapping across diverse contexts. Her operational background, including direct field experience in monitoring and evaluation in the Balkans, keeps her strategic work grounded in the realities of implementation. She also coordinates bids and tenders, including FCDO submissions, and facilitates applications for ECOSOC consultative status.

Dr Fungai Matarise is a social science researcher who has specialised in interdisciplinary research across health, socio-economic development, youth un(der)employment, and child governance systems. She brings deep expertise in the wellbeing, rights, and protection of children in vulnerable situations, with a strong grounding in social policy and applied research methodologies. Currently Fungai is a Research Programme Coordinator at Osman Consulting where she leads the coordination of research activities that ground programme design in evidence.

Mohammad is an ACCA member since October 2022 and has 5 years of professional experience in finance-related roles. In his most recent position at the Shifo Foundation, which also operates in humanitarian aid and stabilisation, he successfully managed budgeting, financial reporting, analysis activities, and project accounting.

Mahmoud is a dedicated humanitarian expert with 9 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, currently serving as OC Country Representative in Türkiye. His expertise spans FSL, Education, NFI, Protection, WASH, MEAL, and Research, as well as leading needs assessments and managing information systems. Throughout his career, he has led teams in Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and across Africa and the MENA region, supporting effective project implementation and data-driven decision-making. He is known for his adaptability, problem-solving skills, and ability to support teams in achieving meaningful outcomes, and continually seeks innovative solutions to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian programmes.
